Unlike other Microsoft programs such as Word, Excel does not have a button to automatically number data. However, you can easily number your data by using the fill handle to fill a series. In this example, we want to number our cells 1-10:

1. Click in cell A1 and type: 1
2. Press Enter
3. In cell A2, type: 2
4. Select both cells A1:A2
5. Hold your mouse over the fill handle and drag down to cell A10
