Excel 2010: Adjusting Margins in the Print Preview Window

In past version it was easy to adjust margins so you could fit more data on a page, by going into print preview and dragging those margins. Now, in Excel 2010, Print Preview is accessed in the Print area and doesn’t allow for this easy margin dragging. The older method is still available. The easiest way to do this is to add the button to the Quick Access toolbar.

  1. From within Excel, click on the drop-down arrow to the right of the Quick Access toolbar (upper-right hand side of your screen) and select More Commands form the menu
  2. Click the drop-down for the top fields and change it from Popular Commands to All Commands
  3. Scroll down until you find the button for Print Preview Full Screen
  4. Select it and click the Add button to add it to the Quick Access toolbar
  5. Click OK to close the Options dialog box
  6. Now click on the newly added button form the Quick Access toolbar to access the view
  7. To view and access margins, check the Show Margins check box when in this view
