Have you ever tried to calculate a column of dollar amounts in Excel but noticed that it’s a few cents off? That is because Excel calculates all of the decimal places, even those that are hidden. The “displayed” total looks incorrect, because the actual calculation is being done by Excel on the underlying numbers, but the result is being rounded.
You can quickly calculate a formula based on a group cells without actually putting the formula into your spreadsheet. You can quickly see the results of an Average, Count, Numerical Count, Min, Max, and Sum, etc. for a range of cells without writing the formula using a tool called AutoCalculate.
