Outsourced Denver IT Vendor Priorities

When we take over Information Technology for a company as a new outsourced IT vendor, we focus on 3 things. First, we ensure that the environment is as stable as possible; second, we document everything; and third, we start aligning our efforts with the goals of the business.

Stabilizing the System

Most new clients come to us as an outsourced Denver IT vendor because their previous situation wasn’t stable. Servers or the network were going down. Help desk tickets were being ignored, or maybe a big disaster that could have been averted, wasn’t.

When a new client comes on, we immediately start working to stabilize the system so that users can focus on their jobs, and managers aren’t kept up at night thinking about “What if…”

Most clients have a specific threat or complaint in mind. This is always the first order of business, but we also work to identify impending problems. It’s our belief that proactive work is less expensive for both us and the client, so we immediately take an aggressive stance in ferreting out any potential issues before they become emergency events.

Documentation

As a well established Outsourced Denver IT Vendor, we’ve found the best way to find these issues is to document the system. We use our proprietary LiveDOC software and managed services monitoring software to build a comprehensive inventory of at least the primary components of the network. We collect passwords, software history, renewal dates, warranty expiration dates, and the specifications of the servers and workstations.

This is very helpful for a number of reasons, but most importantly, in the event that a system needs emergency reactive work, having everything documented can save hours of reconstruction time. Documentation lowers a company’s risk of losing important data, or being temporarily down.

Aligning IT with business goals

Once the system is stabilized and documented, we begin working with company management to align IT with business objectives, growth trends, and goals. Mission Critical Systems is one of the only Outsourced Denver IT Vendors that provides a Virtual CIO to every client.

We call them Directors of IT Services, or DITS for short. (We know; it isn’t a great acronym.) The DITS is responsible for bringing CIO level advice to the table. Is the company trying to save money, minimize interruptions, automate processes, make employees more effective, or all of the above? The DITS will know how to get from here to there.

Our new clients notice an immediate impact in the stability of their IT, and over time, feel the benefits of havng a full service Denver IT Vendor at their disposal. For more information, please contact us about our rapid assessment process.
